02.29.2020 | Men's Basketball

ASHEVILLE – UNC Asheville's men's basketball team finished sixth in the Big South Conference final regular-season standings and will host 11th-seeded Campbell 7 p.m., Tuesday, inside Kimmel Arena for the First Round of the Hercules Tires Big South Championship.

Tickets will be available for the First Round game beginning Sunday, March 1 at noon. Fans can purchase tickets online HERE, by calling (828) 258-7900 or by visiting the ticket office located inside Kimmel Arena. The ticket office will be open from 12-5 p.m., Sunday, and during regular business hours Monday and Tuesday. Adult tickets are $15, while senior and faculty/staff are $10, and children (5-17) student tickets are $5.

Season ticket holders will be required to purchase tickets, as the game serves as a Big South tournament game and not a regular home game.

The Bulldogs finished the season at 14-15 overall and 8-10 in conference play. They improved their win total from 2018-19 by 10 and quadrupled their conference victories. They finished three spots higher than the conference's preseason poll, which projected the Bulldogs to finish ninth.

Campbell won both meetings between the two teams this season, including a 78-69 result, Saturday in Buies Creek, to close out the regular season. The Camels snuck out a 64-62 victory in Kimmel Arena, despite the Bulldogs forcing the Camels into 25 turnovers, the most they forced against a Division I opponent all season.

The Bulldogs are 4-1 all-time hosting Big South tournament games inside of Kimmel Arena. It will be the first time they host a First Round game, and the first time to host a conference tournament game since falling to Liberty in the semifinals, March 2, 2018.
