Bulldogs Fall to Elon

ELON, N.C. – UNC Asheville's women's soccer team dropped their match versus Elon, 5-0, on Sunday afternoon at Rudd Field.
The Bulldogs looked to get on the board early as Alice Walker got a shot off at minute five that missed just left of the goalpost. Chloe Lamenzo followed that up with a shot attempt at minute 14 that missed just high as it hit off the crossbar.
The Bulldog defense held Elon scoreless through the first 25 minutes of the game as the Phoenix scored their first goal on a header in minute 25. The Phoenix would stay on the attack as they accumulated two more goals in the next five minutes to give them a 3-0 lead going into the half.
Bryson Lee, starting at goalkeeper for the second straight game, secured 10 saves in the match. Her first save came on a diving attempt to her right in minute 12 to keep the game scoreless. Lee put together a phenomenal second half securing eight of her ten saves in the half.
The Bulldogs will return home to Greenwood Field, Wednesday, September 11, when they take on Mars Hill at 6 p.m.
