Bulldogs to Take on Elon Sunday Afternoon

ELON, N.C. – UNC Asheville's women's soccer team will travel to Elon, N.C. to take on Elon at 4 p.m., Sunday, September 8 at Rudd Field.
The Bulldogs (1-3-0) opened their regular season, Friday, August 23, with a 2-0 loss to American at Greenwood Field. The Bulldogs then rebounded in a Sunday matchup at ETSU with a 1-0 overtime victory. The golden goal was scored by junior Skyler Chillson in the 96th minute after both defenses held the opposition scoreless at the end of regulation. The Bulldogs are looking to get back in the win column after consecutive losses to Appalachian State and East Carolina.
Elon is 4-1 on the season. The Phoenix opened their season with two matches at Rudd Field and picked up two 1-0 victories, with their last home match taking place, August 25. Their one loss came in the form of a 3-0 shutout by the Furman Paladins, Sunday, September 1.
The last matchup between the Bulldogs and the Phoenix took place in the 2017 season at Greenwood Field. The Phoenix escaped with a 2-1 victory over UNC Asheville in that competition.
