Men’s Basketball to Face Tennessee to Tip Off 2019-20 Season

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men's basketball team will tip off its 2019-20 season by facing Southeastern Conference member Tennessee, Tuesday, Nov. 5.
The game will be played in the Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tenn.
This will be the 10th all-time matchup between the Bulldogs and the Volunteers. The first matchup took place in the 1997-98 season when the Bulldogs gave the Volunteers all they could handle in the 75-69 Tennessee victory.
These programs have faced off three times since 2011 with the last matchup taking place in the 2015-16 season. The Bulldogs have proven to be a tough opponent for the Volunteers in the last three matchups with Tennessee claiming the victory by 10 points or less in all three showdowns.
Second-year head coach Mike Morrell will talk about the advantages and difficulties of facing Tennessee below as they prepare for the rigors of Big South Conference play. UNC Asheville will also over the coming weeks release the women's basketball nonconference schedule.
