Morrell Officially Unveils Addition of Jamon Battle

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville men's basketball head coach Mike Morrell has announced the addition of Jamon "Doc" Battle to the 2019-20 roster.
A 6-foot-5, 200-pound guard, Battle joins the Bulldogs from the Richmond, Va. area. Battle attended LC Bird High School in Chesterfield, Va. He played basketball and football at LC Bird.
"We are very excited to add Doc to our program," Morrell said. "He comes from a tremendous high school program and also an area in Richmond, Va. that I am very familiar with. His athleticism and ability to score in transition is something our fans will love."
Battle was a Virginia High School League Class 5 All-State selection during his senior season as well as an all-region selection. He averaged over 16 points per game as a senior.
Battle joins Trent Stephney and AJ McBride as the three newest additions to the 2019-20 Bulldog roster. A 6-foot-1 guard out of Houston, Texas, McBride joined the Bulldogs out of Manvel High School. A 6-foot-2, 170-pound guard, Stephney joined the UNC Asheville men's basketball program out of Bearden High School in Knoxville, Tenn.
