Bulldogs Fall to Presbyterian in Road Match Wednesday

CLINTON, S.C. – The UNC Asheville women's tennis team dropped its match, 5-2, to Presbyterian on Wednesday.
The match was the final road match of the regular season for the Bulldogs. UNC Asheville is now 6-8 on the season and 1-6 in the Big South Conference.
Lize Alet Morkel and Lauren Watson-Steele won the doubles match at No. 2, 6-2, but the Blue Hose (14-5, 6-1) took the matches at No. 1 and No. 3 to claim the doubles point.
In singles, Morkel picked up her team leading 11th win of the season playing at No. 1. Morkel defeated Sydney Patton in three sets 3-6, 6-3, 7-6. Emily Sidor grabbed the second win of the day with a three-set thriller at No. 3 to best Samantha Calais 3-6, 6-4, 7-6.
Presbyterian would win the remaining matches to hand the Bulldogs the loss. Â Â Â

Next the Bulldogs will return home to celebrate Senior Day on Saturday, April 6. UNC Asheville will take on Hampton at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown at 10 a.m. The match is part of a doubleheader with the men's tennis team taking on Hampton at 1 p.m.
Senior Day festivities for the men and women will take place between the two matches.
