UNC Asheville Falls to Gardner-Webb on Thursday

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – UNC Asheville women's tennis dropped a road match, 4-3, to Gardner-Webb on Thursday, March 28.
UNC Asheville took the doubles point from Gardner-Webb with victories at No. 2 and No. 3. The Runnin' Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb won at No. 1 to begin doubles. Kylee Shipley and Hannah Francisco grabbed the 6-2 victory at No. 3 to even the score for UNC Asheville.
Lize Alet Morkel and Lauren Watson-Steele would claim the doubles point for UNC Asheville with a 6-4 victory at No. 2.
In singles, Gardner-Webb grabbed quick victories at No. 5 and No. 2 for a 2-1 lead. Watson-Steele, playing at No. 4, grabbed a 6-4, 7-5 victory to tie the score 2-2 for Asheville.
UNC Asheville would get another win at No. 3 with Emily Sidor eventually winning the three-set dogfight over Valentine Limauge 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 to give Asheville its third score of the day.
The Bulldogs would drop matches at No. 1 and No. 6 for the final score of 4-3 in Gardner-Webb's favor. Â

UNC Asheville will next travel to Clinton, S.C. on Wednesday, April 3 for a matchup with Presbyterian College at 2 p.m.Â
