JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. – The UNC Asheville women's golf team wrapped up action on Tuesday at the competitive Briar's Creek Invitational at The Golf Club at Briar's Creek.
 
BULLDOG BITES
 
Final Round Highlights
 
Freshman Baylee Evans led UNC Asheville on the final day. The Lancaster, S.C. native etched two birdies for the most by a Bulldog in the third round. She finished the two-day tournament tied for 83rd at 22-over 238.
 
Taylor Hinson had the best overall finish for the Bulldogs, as the sophomore finished in sole possession of 78th place. The sophomore carded a 20-over 236 to complete the tournament.
 
Kellen Alsip and Adelyn Deery finished behind one another at 87th and 88th place, respectively.  
 
As a team, UNC Asheville finished in 17th place behind Charleston Southern. The Bulldogs completed the outing at 96-over 960.
 
No. 23 Michigan State ran away with the tournament, as the Spartans finished the tournament at 8-under 856. Indiana finished second at even-par 864, while No. 25 Campbell placed third at 9-over 873.
 
No. 59 Allyson Geer-Park of Michigan State won the individual title at 13-under 203 (67-69-67), and Ana Paula Valdes of Clemson finished runner-up at 9-under 207 (68-68-71).
 
What's Next?
 
After playing in two tournaments in a span of six days, UNC Asheville will take a week off before hosting the first-ever UNC Asheville French Broad Collegiate Invitational. The two-day tournament will be played at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove, which begins on Monday, March 25.
