UNC Asheville to Take on Montreat Monday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville women's basketball is scheduled to take on Montreat in an 11:30 a.m. Monday morning matchup on December 2 in UNC Asheville's annual Education Day. 2000 youth from local schools are expected to be in attendance for the game.
UNC Asheville will not ticket for the game but it is open to the public with open seating in the two upper sections behind each basket.
No reserved seating will be available for fans and there will be no VIP parking provided. The 225 Zone will be open and 225 members are welcome to sit in the area behind the basket as usual.
The Bulldogs opened the season with a 3-0 record for the first time since the 2005-06 season before falling Friday night to UNC Greensboro for their first loss of the season. UNC Asheville defeated Lenoir-Rhyne at home before winning two straight road games versus Western Carolina and ETSU in their first three games of the season.
Three Bulldogs scored in double figures in the win against Lenoir-Rhyne. Sonora Dengokl led the way with 17 while Zip Scott followed with 11 and Nadiria Evans with 10. Scott scored nine of her 11 points in the second half while Evans put up eight of her 10 points in the final quarter of the game. Scott led the Bulldogs with a career-high eight rebounds.
In the win over Western Carolina, the Bulldogs once again had three double digit scorers with junior Amaryah Corpening leading the way with a new career high of 11. Brooke Jordan-Brown secured her first career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the game.
In the win against ETSU, Nadiria Evans led the Bulldogs with a career high 24 points. Zip Scott scored in double digits for the third straight game. Brooke Jordan-Brown also corralled 10 rebounds making it the second straight game the senior center has secured a double digit rebounding total.
Montreat has played to a 4-4 record so far this season. They're coming off a 55-47 victory against Columbia International on the road last week.
The Bulldogs and the Cavaliers have matched up a total of 13 times dating back to the 1995-96 season. UNC Asheville has won all 13 of those matchups. The last one took place during the 2015-16 season where the Bulldogs pulled away with an 89-41 victory inside Kimmel Arena.
