Bulldogs Fall to Eagles

ROCK HILL, S.C. – UNC Asheville women's soccer fell, 2-0, to Winthrop Wednesday evening at Eagle Field.
Winthrop struck first with two goals in the first 15 minutes of the first half to put the Eagles up 2-0.
The Eagles had four more shots in the first half that were all saved by goalkeeper Bryson Lee as the Bulldogs kept the deficit at 2.
The Bulldogs looked to even the score in the second half with two shots on goal from Barrett Eidson and Maya Gutman but both were saved by the Eagle goalkeeper.
In total, the Bulldogs took eight shots in the match and held the Eagle offense to 12.
UNC Asheville outshot the Eagles in the second half as the Bulldogs took five shots and the Eagles took two.
The Bulldog defense stepped up in a big way as they held the Eagles without a goal in the final 75 minutes of the match.
The Bulldogs will return to the pitch for their final match of the regular season, Saturday, October 26, at Greenwood Field for a matchup with Presbyterian.
