Bulldogs Pick Up Dominating Win on Tuesday Afternoon at Asheville Racquet Club Downtown

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville women's tennis picked up its second victory of the 2019 season with a 6-1 victory over North Greenville on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019, at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.
"It was nice for Anastasia Horvat and Madeline Finley to both get wins today," UNC Asheville women's tennis head coach Lise Gregory said after the match. "They have both been playing really well and sometimes you just need a win under your belt to get a little confidence, so I think that's going to be very helpful. We played a bunch of different doubles teams today, so that was interesting to try some different teams. We're still trying to get healthy. We're getting there slowly, but it's a little bit of a process right now."
UNC Asheville (2-1) started the match by easily sweeping the doubles point from North Greenville (1-4). The Bulldogs only dropped one game at all three doubles flights en route to the collecting the doubles point.
The Bulldogs would go on to win all five of the singles flights in which they competed in straight sets. Asheville did not field a player at No. 6 singles to give the Crusaders their lone point.
UNC Asheville women's tennis will next open the month of February by playing host to Mars Hill at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1. The Bulldogs one day later at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, will welcome Mountain Rival Western Carolina to the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.
