Bulldogs Kick Off February With Win Friday Afternoon at Asheville Racquet Club Downtown

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville women's tennis kicked off the month of February with a 7-0 win versus Mars Hill on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.
In doubles, UNC Asheville fielded Lize Alet Morkel and Lauren Watson-Steele in the first spot along with Christin Louw and Emily Sidor at the second. Both sets of partners swept, 6-0, giving UNC Asheville an early 1-0 lead. Mars Hill did not field a doubles pair at No. 3 doubles.
UNC Asheville (3-1) would go on to win all five singles matches in which they competed with no player dropping more than two games in a single set. Mars Hill (6-1) did not field a player at No. 6, giving UNC Asheville the seventh and final point.
UNC Asheville women's tennis will next play their second match in as many days when they welcome Mountain Rival Western Carolina to the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at 3 p.m.
UNC Asheville is 3-1 on the season, while Western Carolina will be competing in their first match of the year.
