Women’s Golf Returns to Links; Competes in Two-Day F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – After a two-week break from the links, the UNC Asheville women's golf team travels to Clarksville, Tenn. to compete in the two-day F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate beginning on Oct. 1.

Last Time Out - MSU Greenbrier Invitational
Junior Kellen Alsip led the Bulldogs at the MSU Greenbrier Invitational, as she finished tied for third in the 43-golfer field. Alsip shot a 12-over 228 (77-76-75) en route to her first career Big South Golfer of the Week honor. She joins Taylor Hinson as one of two active Bulldogs to garner the weekly award in their career.
Hinson had the second-best finish for UNC Asheville, as the sophomore earned a top-10 finish. The Belmont, N.C. native posted a 14-over 230 in the second tournament of the season.
Adelyn Deery rounded out the top-20 individual finishes for UNC Asheville, as she placed 16th with an 18-over 234 (78-77-79) in the two-day outing.
As a team, UNC Asheville finished tied for third with Belmont at 76-over 940.
About the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate
The F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate is hosted by Austin Peay State University, and the outing will be held at the Clarksville Country Club in Clarksville, Tenn.
The golf course is a par-72 and runs 6,038 yards.
The tournament is a 54-hole scoring format with 36 holes on Oct. 1 and 18 holes on Oct. 2. Monday's play begins at 9 a.m., and Tuesday's outing will commence at 9:30 a.m.
There are 11 total teams and 13 individuals in the two-day outing.
UNC Asheville is the lone team from the state of North Carolina, and there are three schools from the state of Tennessee. UNC Asheville and Radford are the only two programs representing the Big South Conference in the outing.
To start the tournament, UNC Asheville is paired with Morehead State and Belmont.
