Big South Officially Unveils 2018-19 Men’s Basketball Conference Schedule

2018-19 UNC Asheville Men's Basketball Schedule
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Big South schedule for the 2018-19 UNC Asheville men's basketball team was officially unveiled by the league office on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018.
The league schedule for UNC Asheville men's basketball features eight home conference games for the Bulldogs.
UNC Asheville men's basketball is still finalizing times for the conference schedule. When officially finalized that information will be passed along.
The Big South Conference slate for UNC Asheville opens strongly with the Bulldogs playing host to rival Winthrop on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019. The last time the two programs faced off the Bulldogs secured the 2017-18 Big South Conference regular season title with an 89-75 victory over the Eagles at Kimmel Arena on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018.
UNC Asheville will hit the road for the first time in league play by traveling to Longwood on Thursday, Jan. 10 for the 12th all-time meeting between the programs. UNC Asheville owns a 10-1 all-time series lead over Longwood.
Just a couple of days later the Bulldogs will take on Hampton for the first time as conference rivals in Hampton, Va. on Saturday, Jan. 12.
UNC Asheville will next welcome Campbell to Kimmel Arena on Wednesday, Jan. 16. The Bulldogs own a 25-20 all-time series edge over the Camels with Asheville having won 12 of the last 13 in the series.
A few days later on Saturday, Jan. 19, UNC Asheville plays host to Radford for the 73rd all-time meeting between the two programs. Impressively, the series is currently tied at 36-36.
After battling Winthrop in Rock Hill, S.C. on Monday, Jan. 21, UNC Asheville will then have a few days off before traveling to High Point on Saturday, Jan. 26. The Bulldogs own a 31-22 all-time series lead over High Point.
On Wednesday, Jan. 30 at Kimmel Arena the Bulldogs will close out the first half of the league schedule by facing off against USC Upstate for the first time as league rivals.
The matchup will be the 17th all-time meeting between the two institutions in a series that dates back to the 1970's. UNC Asheville owns a 10-6 all-time series lead with the Bulldogs taking an 82-70 victory over the Spartans last season at Kimmel Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017.
The Bulldogs will open the month of February by traveling to Boiling Springs, N.C. to face Gardner-Webb on Saturday, Feb. 2. UNC Asheville and Gardner-Webb will be taking the court against one another for the 49th time. UNC Asheville has picked up the win in the series in 15 of the last 19 meetings.
The Bulldogs will then travel to Clinton, S.C. on Thursday, Feb. 7 to battle the Blue Hose of Presbyterian College. UNC Asheville owns a 22-7 all-time series lead and the Bulldogs have won the last six in the series.
The Bulldogs will welcome Charleston Southern to the friendly confines of Kimmel Arena on Saturday, Feb. 9. The Bulldogs own a 45-36 all-time series lead over the Buccaneers.
UNC Asheville will next travel to Spartanburg, S.C. to take on USC Upstate on Wednesday, Feb. 13 before welcoming Gardner-Webb to Kimmel Arena on Thursday, Feb. 21.
The Bulldogs will host Presbyterian College on Saturday, Feb. 23 before traveling to Charleston, S.C. to take on Charleston Southern on Wednesday, Feb. 27.

UNC Asheville men's basketball picked up its seventh Big South Conference regular-season title (1996-97, 1997-98, 2001-02, 2007-08, 2011-12, 2016-17 and 2017-18) this past season.
The Bulldogs continued to set the standard in the Big South this past season by becoming the first program in league history to win 15 games or more for 11 straight seasons. The Bulldogs have also now won 10 or more league games in a season in a Big South men's basketball record 11 straight seasons.
