UNC Asheville Opens Play at the Briar’s Creek Invitational on Monday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – With just a week off from the links, the UNC Asheville women's golf team will head to Johns Island, S.C. to compete in the two-day Briar's Creek Invitational beginning on Monday, March 19, at The Golf Club at Briar's Creek.
Last Time Out
At the Bradley Spring Invitational, Adelyn Deery had the best overall finish for the Bulldogs, as the sophomore finished tied for 26th with a 16-over 235 (79-74-82). The second round 1-over 74 was the lowest round she has carded in her career.
Kellen Alsip finished right behind her teammate, as she placed tied for 31st. The sophomore finished the two-day outing with a 18-over 237.
Freshman Taylor Hinson rounded out the top-40 finishes for UNC Asheville, as she posted a 19-over 238 in Farmers Branch, Texas.
As a team, the Bulldogs finished ninth out of 16 teams, as UNC Asheville inked a 72-over 948 in the tournament.
About the Briar's Creek Invitational
The Briar's Creek Invitational is hosted by College of Charleston and will be held at The Golf Club at Briar's Creek.
The field features 16 teams, including four teams ranked in the top 50 according to GolfStat.com - No. 23 Illinois, No. 29 North Carolina, No. 37 East Carolina, No. 40 Campbell. There are three total teams that will be representing the Big South Conference in the two-day outing - UNC Asheville, Campbell and Charleston Southern.
The Golf Club at Briar's Creek is a par-72 and is 6,101 yards in length.
The opening round commences at 9 a.m. with 36 holes of continuous play, and the final 18 holes will begin on Tuesday, March 20, at 8:46 a.m. with a shotgun start.
