Bulldogs Keep Up Winning Ways at Home With 7-0 Shutout of NCCU

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's tennis team kept up its winning ways at home with a dominating 7-0 victory over North Carolina Central at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.
UNC Asheville (4-2) opened the match by easily sweeping all of the doubles flight to secure the doubles points. Kylee Shipley and Hannah Francisco won 6-1 at No. 1 doubles over Jamie Rogers and Maru Berghaus, while Lauren Watson-Steele and Christin Louw won 6-3 over Sofia Miller and Polina Sakharova at No. 2 doubles. Taylor Love and Emily Sidor garnered a 6-0 win over Emily Pena and Lauren Mullis at No. 3 doubles.
In singles, Love picked up the biggest win of the day with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Mullis at No. 5 singles. Louw was victorious with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Pena at No. 4 singles, while Watson-Steele picked up a 6-2, 6-3 win over Miller at No. 3 singles.
Sidor collected a 6-4, 6-1 win over Berghaus at No. 2 singles and Shipley secured a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Rogers at the No. 1 spot.
