Deery Shoots Low on Final Day of Terrier Intercollegiate

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Junior Adelyn Deery shot low on Tuesday, as she carded a 1-over 73 to lead the UNC Asheville women's golf team at the Terrier Intercollegiate.

Final Round Highlights
Deery paced the five-person Bulldog squad on Tuesday, as she posted a 1-over 73. She sank three birdies along with 11 pars in the final round at the Terrier Intercollegiate. The 73 round score was also the second-best round the junior has shot this season (1-under 70 at the NKU Fall Classic). Overall she finished the two-day outing tied for 25th.
After being tied for sixth after the first day of the outing, Baylee Evans sank a trio of birdies to match Deery for the team-lead on Tuesday. Evans finished the two-day tournament tied for 30th.
Sophomore Taylor Hinson also posted a strong 18-hole score, 5-over 77. Highlighting her final round was shooting an even-par 37 on the back nine holes. Overall the Belmont, N.C. native finished tied for 25th.
Playing as an individual, Linna Brooks shot a 6-over 78 for Asheville's third-best individual score on Tuesday.
As a team UNC Asheville finished 10th at 56-over 632. The 25-over 313 second round was a five-stroke improvement from yesterday's outing for the Bulldogs.
Big South foe High Point won the team title with a 34-over 610 score (297-313). Fellow conference rivals Winthrop and USC Upstate finished tied for second at 36-over 612.
Becca Earl of Wofford claimed the individual crown. She opened the tournament with a 1-under 71 score to lead the 90-person field, and she capped off the outing with a 1-over 73 mark.
What's Next?
UNC Asheville will take a fourth-month break from the links, as it will rest and prepare for the Kiawah Island Spring Classic. The tournament will be a two-day competition beginning on Feb. 25 in Kiawah Island, S.C.
