ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville will next welcome Longwood to Kimmel Arena for a 7 p.m. game on Tuesday, Jan. 9.
The game will serve as UNC Asheville's Camper Reunion game, as the Bulldogs welcome back all of their junior campers from 2017. It's also Partner Appreciation Night at Kimmel Arena with the Bulldogs welcoming all of their local sponsors to the game.

LOOKING FOR BIG SOUTH WIN NO. 50 AT KIMMEL ARENA: UNC Asheville's league-opening win over Campbell was its 15th straight home victory. UNC Asheville is now 6-0 on the 2017-18 season and 74-16 all-time at Kimmel Arena. The Bulldogs are 49-10 all-time in Big South Conference contests at Kimmel Arena.
NEARING MORE HISTORY: Ahmad Thomas is already just the sixth player in Big South Conference men's basketball history with over 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 200 steals. Thomas is nearing becoming just the second player in league history with over 1,000 points, 600 rebounds, 200 steals and 200 assists. Thomas ended the conference game at Radford with 1,316 points, 604 rebounds, 217 steals and 199 assists.
STRONG FROM THE FREE THROW LINE: For the fourth time this season and the second straight game the Bulldogs shot over 85 percent from the free throw line as a team, ending the loss to Radford shooting 87.5 percent (14-of-16). Kevin Vannatta was a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line in the game. UNC Asheville is currently leading the conference in Big South contests in free throw shooting with a team shooting percentage of 85.7 percent.
HIGH PERCENTAGE: Alec Wnuk after his 5-of-10 performance from the field against Radford has opened UNC Asheville's first three games of Big South play by going 15-of-23 (65.2 percent) from the floor. The percentage is good for third currently in Big South Conference contests.
VANNATTA NAMED CANDIDATE FOR SENIOR CLASS AWARD: UNC Asheville senior guard Kevin Vannatta has been selected as a candidate for the 2017-18 Senior CLASS Award® in men's collegiate basketball. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School ®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities. "We are very proud of what Kevin has been able to accomplish, both on and off the court, during his time here at UNC Asheville," UNC Asheville men's basketball head coach Nick McDevitt said. "To be part of a list of candidates that includes individuals such as Grayson Allen of Duke and Joel Berry II of North Carolina, speaks to the hard work that he has put forth on and off the court." Vannatta enters the final semester of his senior season with the Bulldogs owning a 3.93 grade-point average as an Accounting major. Vannatta also represents UNC Asheville and the Big South Conference on the NCAA Division I National Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Vannatta was named to the 2016-17 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® 3 Men's Basketball first-team in addition to being tabbed as a DI-AAA ADA Scholar-Athlete last season. A 2017-18 preseason All-Big South Conference selection, Vannatta scored eight points in UNC Asheville's win over Wofford on Sunday, Nov. 26, to become the 33rd member of the prestigious 1,000-point club at UNC Asheville and the 149th in Big South history to accomplish the feat. Each of the 30 candidate classes will be narrowed to fields of 10 finalists in February, and those 10 names will be placed on the official ballot. Ballots will be distributed through a nationwide voting system to media, coaches and fans, who will select one male candidate and one female candidate who best exemplifies excellence in the four Cs of community, classroom, character and competition.

ABOUT LONGWOOD: The Lancers visit Kimmel Arena owning a 4-12 record overall, which includes a 1-2 mark in league play. Longwood picked up its first conference win this past weekend with a 79-73 home win over Gardner-Webb.
