ASHEVILLE, N.C. – After winning its second-ever tournament in the program's second year of existence, the UNC Asheville women's golf team will look to continue its winning ways as the Bulldogs travel to Greenville, N.C. to compete in the Pirate Collegiate Classic, which is hosted by East Carolina.

About UNC Asheville
The Bulldogs won their second tournament as a team as UNC Asheville claimed the top spot at the NKU Fall Classic two weeks ago. As a team, the Bulldogs finished 62-over, 914, which bested Oakland by four strokes. The three-round score for Asheville was also the lowest score in program history.

True freshman Taylor Hinson placed third individually as she carded an 11-over 224 including matching the program lowest round score of 72. She was two strokes away from tying the individual winner. After completing her first collegiate golf outing, the freshman was named the Big South Golfer of the Week and earned All-Tournament honors.

Janie Thomas finished inside the top 10 as an individual, while Adelyn Deery and Kellen Alsip placed inside the top 15 as well.
