About UNC Asheville

The Bulldogs enter Big South Conference play with a 4-4-1 overall record. To conclude the non-conference portion of the schedule, UNC Asheville traveled to South Carolina State and won 2-0 behind goals from Emma Houser and Skyler Chillson.

Houser netted her first goal of the season and her seventh of her career, while Chillson netted her second goal of her rookie campaign. Alison Kurucz assisted Houser on the first goal of the game, which was her first assist of her career.

With the victory in Orangeburg, S.C., Demko is one win away from her 50th career overall victory as a head coach.

Also with the two-goal victory, it was the Bulldog defense's and goalkeeper Bryson Lee's second clean sheet of the season.

With Houser scoring her first goal of the year, it is the sixth different Bulldog to tally at least one goal in 2017. With Kurucz's assist at SCSU, it was the eighth assist of the year for the team.

In the 30 all-time meetings between UNC Asheville and Charleston Southern, the Bulldogs lead the Bucs 15-13-2.

The Bucs have been out-scored 11-7 this year as a team, while Sidney Doherty and Jordan Newman have each posted two goals on the year. The same duo leads the team in points (5) as each have tallied an assist on the year.
