QUOTABLES
On game
"South Carolina was very focused. I thought early on we did some good things. We were executing well against their pressure, and I was very proud of us coming in with a very aggressive mentality, but also understanding we had to stick to the gameplan offensively and defensively. Really, in that first six minutes, we were doing the best job that we did all day obviously. I think when you're giving an already talented team breakaway layups, loose ball turnovers and second-chance points in particular to Allisha Gray, who had a phenomenal opening half on offensive rebounds, then you're going to be in trouble. Those things have to go very well, and you have to dominate those areas and we did not." – Head Coach Brenda Mock Kirkpatrick
On season
This season has been full of adversity, but also full of opportunity to show the character of UNC Asheville women's basketball, and I think we did that today. Even in a 50-point loss, that's hard to do, but I think our kids for the better part of the game stuck with what we were trying to do. They kept fighting, and I think that's really the epitome of what we have done all year. So I'm really pleased with our kids." – Head Coach Brenda Mock Kirkpatrick
