Bulldogs to Take on Campbell in Big South Tournament Quarterfinals on Thursday

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Big South Conference regular-season co-champion and tournament second-seeded UNC Asheville will take on seventh-seeded Campbell in the Big South Tournament quarterfinals at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2017. The game will be streamed live on ESPN3.
Seventh-seeded Campbell advanced to take on the Bulldogs at the Winthrop Coliseum in Rock Hill, S.C. with an 81-62 win over 10th-seeded Presbyterian at Gore Arena in Buies Creek, N.C. on Tuesday, Feb. 28.
The Bulldogs and Camels will be meeting for the third time this season with Asheville taking both earlier meetings. Asheville picked up a 72-56 home win over Campbell on Saturday, Jan. 21, and a 66-53 road win over Campbell on Saturday, Feb. 18.
Asheville is 1-1 all-time against the Camels in Big South Tournament action.
UNC Asheville men's basketball picked up their sixth Big South Conference regular-season title in the 2016-17 season (1996-97, 1997-98, 2001-02, 2007-08, 2011-12 and 2016-17) by finishing as co-champions in the league.
Asheville (23-8, 15-3 Big South Conference) and Winthrop (22-6, 15-3 Big South Conference) shared this year's regular-season title. Due to numerous tiebreaking procedures, Winthrop earned the No. 1 seed in the Big South Conference Men's Basketball Tournament and will play host to the quarterfinals and semifinals. The highest remaining seed will host the championship game.
