Bulldogs Travel to Tennessee For F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – With only five days of rest, the UNC Asheville women's golf team returns to the links on Oct. 2 as the Bulldogs travel to Clarksville, Tenn. to compete in the two-day F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate.

The Bulldogs most recently competed in the Pirate Collegiate Classic where the team finished in 13th place at 68-over 932 (312-308-312). Freshman Taylor Hinson paced the Bulldogs in Greenville, N.C. as she finished tied for 23rd at 9-over 225 (77-72-76). The second round even-72 score for the freshman tied a program record for the lowest individual round score.
On Monday, Hinson was named the Big South Freshman of the Week after her performance at the Pirate Collegiate Classic. The award was her second total accolade this year and her first Freshman of the Week honor in her career.
Previewing the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate
The F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate is being hosted by Austin Peay State University. The Governors are hosting the tournament in Clarksville, Tenn. at the Clarksville Country Club. The club is a par-72, 6,038 yard course.
The field features nine teams where UNC Asheville is the lone school from the state of North Carolina. Also joining Asheville in the tournament out of the Big South Conference is Radford.
All nine teams will tee off at 8 a.m. on Monday as the entire field will play 36 holes on the opening day and will conclude the tournament with the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs are paired with Eastern Illinois and Morehead State in the opening round.
