Bulldogs Defeat Longwood on Senior Day

ASHEVILLE– The UNC Asheville Men's Tennis team defeated Longwood University 5-2 for their fifth conference win in their last home game of the season.
The Bulldogs also honored the program's four seniors: Alex Croker, Brett Landau, Thomas Orestis-Panoulas and Daniel Kripak.
NOTABLES
-The Bulldogs started off strong by taking the doubles point with wins in flights one and two. The senior duo of Brett Landau and Alex Croker took the match on court one, 6-1; while Henry Patten and Josh Swindler blanked the Lancer pair 6-0 on court two to decide the first point for Asheville.
-Patten picked up the first win in singles play for the Bulldogs on court two (6-2, 6-3), followed by a win from senior Daniel Kripak on court six (6-2, 6-2) to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 advantage over the Lancers.
-Longwood responded with a win on court three to slow the Bulldogs' momentum, however Asheville's Swindler came back with a 6-1, 7-5 win on court four to decide the match.
-Asheville would add one more singles point from senior, Alex Croker in their Senior Day victory. Croker delivered a 6-4, 6-3 win to build the Bulldogs' final score to five.

On the Match- "The tennis was not particularly pretty today in some very windy conditions. However, we managed to do enough to get the job done and send our graduating seniors out with a win."
UP NEXT
-Following Saturday's win over Longwood, the Bulldogs will travel to Radford University on Sunday, April 10th to take on the Highlanders at noon for their final regular season match before the Big South Tournament beginning on April 13th.
