Coach's take: "Alex has come a long way in his time here at Asheville. He has been an integral part of our program for three years now, especially in doubles. We are excited to see what he can do in his senior year."  

 

2015: 11 singles wins was tied for most on the team ... finished 11-6 overall including 3-4 in Big South Conference play ... compiled a 7-3 mark when competing on court five ... opened the season on a four-match winning streak, including knocking off Roller of No. 73 East Carolina in straight sets (6-4, 6-2) ... defeated Chen of Winthrop in three sets ... took down Liberty's Burgess in the last match of the season April 19, 6-3, 6-4 ... teamed with Brett Landau in doubles to lead the team with 11 doubles victories ... finished 11-7 with Landau in doubles including 3-5 in conference play, with all matches coming on the No. 1 court ... enjoyed a four-match win streak between Jan. 31-Feb. 15, defeating opponents from UNC Greensboro, Appalachian State, Lee-McRae and Tennessee Tech along the way

 

2014: Enjoyed great sophomore season for the Bulldogs and was a starter in both singles and doubles...posted an 8-14 singles record playing in the #2 and #3 flights...went 2-6 in league action....tallied a 3-12 mark while primarily playing at #3 flight...finished with a 5-2 record at #2...teamed up primarily with Brett Landau in #1 doubles....went 13-9 in doubles with a 5-4 mark in Big South Conference matches with doubles wins over Coastal Carolina and Liberty on the road, as well as wins against Presbyterian College, Campbell and Winthrop.

 

2013: Moved into the starting line-up in both singles and doubles as a freshman...posted an 8-11 singles record…played mainly at #4 singles and went 4-11 there…went unbeaten at 4-0 in three other flights as he went 1-0 at #2, 1-0 at #3 and 2-0 at #6….opened college career with 7-6, 6-4 victory over Appalachian State (2-9)…went 2-1 in three-set matches, including victory over Radford that helped get Bulldogs first win over Highlanders in 10 years…teamed up with fellow freshman Brett Landau to form solid #3 doubles team…the duo went 11-6 overall and 5-3 in Big South Conference play…earned win over eventual conference champion Coastal Carolina (3-22)…also enjoyed impressive doubles wins over USC Upstate (3-2), Tennessee Tech (3-3), Liberty (3-8), Radford (3-23) and Presbyterian College (4-3).
