Dwayne Sutton Named Big South Freshman of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C.??UNC Asheville guard Dwayne Sutton has been named the Big South Men's Basketball Freshman of the Week, the conference announced this afternoon. It is Sutton's third recognition as the conference's Freshman of the Week this season.

Sutton finished with a game-best and career-high 23 points in Asheville's comeback victory at Presbyterian on Thursday, finishing just shy of a double-double after adding nine rebounds along with four assists and four steals in the win. In the weeks' two games, he finished with 31 total points in 73 minutes of action, shooting 50 percent (11-22) from the floor with 14 rebounds, six assists, six steals and a pair of blocks.

Sutton and the Bulldogs are now 18-10 on the season and 11-5 in Big South Conference play. Close the regular season with a pair of home games inside Kimmel Arena this week, beginning with Liberty on Thursday night before facing Coastal Carolina on Saturday afternoon as part of a home doubleheader with the Bulldog women's team.
