Women's Tennis Earns Conference Win at Longwood, 5-2

FARMVILLE, Va. – The UNC Asheville women's tennis team improved to 9-1 overall and 2-1 in Big South play with a 5-2 victory over the Longwood Lancers on Tuesday afternoon at Liberty Indoor courts.
Asheville won the doubles point with victories at No. 2 and No. 3. The duo of Christine Boissevain and Lauren Brooker earned a 8-6 victory at the second flight, while Hunter Hall and Amryn Soldier were triumphant on court three, 8-4.
Emily McNall, Soldier, Boissevain and Amalie Davidsen all secured singles wins for the Blue & White. McNall dropped Anna Pelak 6-4, 6-4 on court two and Soldier topped Maria Coronel 6-2, 6-0 at the third flight.
At No. 5 Davidsen defeated Mason Thomas in dominating fashion 6-0, 6-0. Boissevain rounded out the singles victories with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Paloma Alatorre at No. 4
Asheville's game originally scheduled for Thursday at Kennesaw State has been cancelled due to the weather forecast. The Bulldogs will now have a week off before returning to action on Wednesday, March 18 when the New Jersey Institute of Technology travels to Asheville for a 2:00 p.m. match.
