Men's Basketball to be on ESPNU Feb. 26 vs. High Point

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – For the second time this season, the UNC Asheville men's basketball team has been selected for a nationally televised game by ESPNU. The Bulldogs final home game of the year against Big South Conference rival High Point on Thursday, Feb. 26 has been selected by the league to be broadcast nationally by ESPNU at 7 p.m.
Asheville's game with Coastal Carolina on Jan.22 at Kimmel Arena was also broadcast by ESPNU.
UNC Asheville sits one game behind High Point in the current standings as part of a five-way tie for third-place at 7-4 (11-11 overall). The Bulldogs are 31-5 against Big South opponents inside Kimmel Arena, including 3-0 against the Panthers during a current seven-game home win streak over HPU. Asheville is led by sophomore Andrew Rowsey (18.4 ppg), who is just the second player in Big South annals to score 1,000 career points before the end of his sophomore season.
High Point, which is No. 22 in this week's Collegeinsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 poll, is currently tied for first in the Big South with an 8-3 mark (17-6 overall). The Panthers, who are 32-11 in League play since 2012-13, are led by redshirt-junior John Brown's 18.2 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per contest. He is one of six players in League history with 1,400 career points (1,463), 500 rebounds (539), 100 steals (127), 100 blocks (113) and 100 assists (109).
The Feb. 26 contest will be the second meeting of the season between the two squads. High Point won the first meeting, 72-51, on Jan. 24 with Brown leading three Panthers in double figures with 15 points. Sam Hughes led the Bulldogs with 14.
