ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville freshman guard Dwayne Sutton has been named College Sports Madness' Big South Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the publication announced today.

The Louisville, KY native led Asheville with an 18-point effort in 32 minutes of action in Sunday's Big South victory over Campbell. The 6-5 guard finished 8-of-12 from the floor and was 2-of-3 at the free throw stripe as he narrowly missed another double-double effort after grabbing nine rebounds. He added an assist and block to his final stat line in the win.

Sutton and the Bulldogs are now 5-4 on the season and continue play on Tuesday night with a 7:00 p.m. contest against East Tennessee State at home inside Kimmel Arena in a game that can be seen locally on WMYA MY40 television. Asheville wraps up the week with a Saturday afternoon contest at Georgetown in Washington, D.C., a game that will be available on Fox Sports Southeast for fans in the Asheville area.
