Dylan Smith Named to Great Alaska Shootout All-Tournament Team

ANCHORAGE, AK – UNC Asheville freshman guard Dylan Smith has been named to the 2015 GCI Great Alaska Shootout All-Tournament team, the tournament committee announced Saturday night.
The Mobile, Alabama native finished the Bulldogs' three games in the Great Alaska Shootout as Asheville's leading scorer, scoring 39 total points and averaging 13 points per game. He led the Bulldogs in scoring in the final two games, with 14 points against Middle Tennessee and 17 points against Loyola. For the tournament, he was a 50 percent shooter from the floor (13-of-26) and was a 42 percent three-point shooter (5-of-12).
“Dylan has continued to improve game by game and played well these three games in the Great Alaska Shootout. We are excited to watch Dylan and the rest of our freshman class grow daily and look forward to what they continue to do on the floor,” head coach Nick McDevitt stated.
Smith was one of 11 total players named to the Shootout's All-Tournament team. He and the Bulldogs return to action on Saturday afternoon inside Kimmel Arena when they host Johnson & Wales at 4:30 p.m. in the second half of a doubleheader with the Asheville women's team.
