NOTABLES

Bulldogs Look to Start Trip on a High Note: Asheville will look to carry the momentum gained on Wednesday night into their 10-day road trip that begins at Texas A&M on Saturday. While the Bulldogs had been scoing enough (78 points at Tennessee; 81 points at Western Carolina), they were allowing opponents to score too easily on the other end of the floor. Offensively, Asheville posted another big number (84 points) Wednesday night and also made the stops defensively to hold Mars Hill to 28 percent shooting.

Scoring Gets Answered: A team left wondering where the scoring would come from entering the season, Asheville has received scoring contributions from all 12 players that have seen action in the first three games. Four players are averaging double-digit scoring numbers over those three games (Kevin Vannatta 15.3 points, Will Weeks 13.3 points, Sam Hughes 11.3 points, Dwyane Sutton 11.0 points). Part of the scoring numbers can be attributed to the Bulldogs' 48.9 percent team shooting percentage from the floor.

Defense Steps Up: After Asheville allowed 82 and 90 points (86.0 points per) in their first two contests against Tennessee and Western Carolina, the Bulldogs defense stepped up on Wednesday night against Mars Hill, holding the visitors to just 17 points at the half and just a 28 percent shooting night from the floor (18-for-65) by the end of the game. The defense forced eight turnovers and pulled down 33 of its 52 rebounds on the defensive glass.

Sit Back and Enjoy Your Flight: Asheville is in the middle of a 10-day road trip that begins with Saturday's contest against Texas A&M before continuing to Alaska for three games in the Great Alaska Shootout November 27-29. In total, the Bulldogs will play five games across three states and cross six time zones between their game on Wednesday night against Mars Hill and the time they return from the Great Alaska Shootout at the end of November.
