Sam Hughes Named BCBSNC Athlete of the Week

Men's Basketball player Sam Hughes is this week's Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina Athlete of the Week at UNC Asheville.
Each week the school selects a BCBSNC Athlete of the Week upon their performance from the previous week's action.
Hughes enjoyed a great game on Saturday as the Bulldogs defeated Gardner-Webb, 80-55. He scored a career-high 22 points and grabbed a career-best 12 rebounds as Asheville moved to 2-0 in the Big South Conference.
The junior forward went 8-of-12 from the field, 4-of-7 from beyond the arc and a perfect 2-of-2 from the free throw line.
Sam and the Bulldogs are back in action this Thursday night when they host Liberty at Kimmel Arena starting at 7 p.m.
