The Bulldogs are 8-9 on the season but 4-2 in Big South Conference play. Asheville is in the middle of a tough stretch that will see it play the two tops teams in the league in a three-day span. The Bulldogs face the Chanticleers on Thursday and then turn around and go to High Point on Saturday night as the Panthers are tied with CCU for first place in the league.

Coastal Carolina, under the direction of veteran head coach Cliff Ellis, has a 14-4 overall record and is 5-1 in league play.

Sophomore guard Andrew Rowsey of Asheville has a chance to make history on Thursday as he needs just 17 points to become the first sophomore in school history to reach 1,000 career points. He scored 34 points at CSU Monday night and now has 973 points entering Thursday's contest.
