12.08.2014 | Men's Basketball
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the fifth straight week, a UNC Asheville men's basketball player was recognized by the Big South Conference.
Forward Alec Wnuk became the latest Bulldog to receive an award from the league on Monday as he was named Big South Freshman of the Week. The former Christ School standout scored 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field and added seven rebounds in Asheville's 91-66 victory over Limestone one Sunday.
He is the second Bulldog to be named Freshman of the Week as teammate Kem Ubaru was honored the first two weeks of the season. Sophomore guard Andrew Rowsey has been named Big South Player of the Week twice this year.
Wnuk and the Bulldogs are back in action this Thursday evening when Asheville hosts Tusculum at Kimmel Arena starting at 7 p.m.
