Andrew Rowsey Named Big South Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – UNC Asheville sophomore guard Andrew Rowsey (Lexington, Va.) has been named the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Men's Basketball Player of the Week, for games played Nov. 24-30, it was announced today by the Conference office.
Rowsey averaged 28.5 points and 3.0 steals in games against South Carolina and Charlotte. He opened his week with 30 points and four steals against the Gamecocks, and followed with 27 points and two steals against the 49ers. Rowsey made six three-pointers in each contest, was 12-of-27 ( =44.4 percent) from beyond the arc and shot 47.5 percent overall from the field (19-of-40).
The Lexington, Va. native leads the nation in scoring with a 26.7 average. He has scored in double figures in 35 straight games dating back to last season.
Rowsey and the Bulldogs play next against Limestone Sunday afternoon at 7 p.m.
