ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Former Bulldog guards Matt Dickey and J.P. Primm were selected in the National Basketball Development League draft Friday night.

Dickey and Primm were selected back-to-back in the third round with the seventh and eighth picks respectively.

Dickey, the 2012 Big South Conference Player of the Year and 2011 Big South Tournament MVP, was selected by the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (Texas) with the seventh pick of the third round. The Vipers are affiliated with the Houston Rockets.

Primm, the 2012 Big South Tournament MVP, was picked by the Canton Charge (Ohio) with the eighth pick of the third round. Canton is affiliated with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The duo helped lead the Bulldogs to the 2011 and 2012 Big South Conference championships and two trips to the NCAA Tournament.

"I'm real happy for both Matt and J.P. to be selected in the NBDL draft," stated Bulldog coach Eddie Biedenbach. "Those two meant so much to our program and our school. I'm glad they're getting a chance to play professionally and now they both have a shot at the NBA someday."
