Primm was Asheville's second leading scorer with a 14.6 average and led the squad in assists with 154. He set a single-season school record for steals with 71. Primm was second in the Big South in assists per game with a 4.5 average. He shot 78.8 percent from the free throw line, fifth best in the conference. His 2.1 steals per game mark was second in the league.
"It is great to have players who are contemplating an NBA career," stated Bulldog head coach Eddie Biedenbach. "The reason you win championships is by having good players like J.P. Primm who dream about playing at the next level. This experience will help J.P. and make him a better player."
"With the success that we enjoyed last season, I just wanted to see where I stack up against better players and what I need to improve on," stated Primm. "I plan on returning to UNC Asheville and receiving my degree. This is something I just want to do to get my name out there and make me a better basketball player."
