Leadoff man Jordan Lurie collected a pair of hits for the Diamond Dogs with freshman Tommy Houmard picking up two hits as well. Houmard went 2-for-3 at the plate with a run scored and a walk while right fielder Mike Vaughn collected Asheville's only RBI of the day.
The two teams will meet again tomorrow evening in the final game of a two-game set. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. but could be moved due to inclement weather expected in the Atlanta area.
