Jaron Lane Named Big South Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) - UNC Asheville junior forward Jaron Lane (Greenville, N.C.) has been named the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Men's Basketball Player of the Week, while Radford guard R.J. Price (Richmond, Va.) has been named The Crons Brand Freshman of the Week for games played the opening weekend of the regular-season, it was announced today by the Conference office.
Lane averaged 17.0 points and 4.5 rebounds against two ACC squads last week. He opened the season with 13 points and eight rebounds in the Bulldogs' nine-point loss at N.C. State, and followed with a career-high 21 points on 8-of-12 field goals against No. 1 North Carolina on Sunday. Lane went 12-of-25 overall from the field (=48.0 percent), was 3-of-8 from three-point range ( =37.5 percent) and made 7-of-10 free throw attempts ( =70.0 percent).
