UNC Asheville's John Williams Named 2nd Team All-Conference

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville junior forward John Williams was named to the Big South All-Conference second team by a league-wide media panel. The announcement came from the league office Monday morning.
Williams has enjoyed an excellent season for the Bulldogs this year. He is Asheville's second leading scorer with an 11.6 average. He is second on the team in rebounding (6.7) and tops the club in field goal percentage with a 59.3% mark. John leads the Big South in blocked shots with 78 and became the school's all-time career leader in blocked shots this year as he now has 205.
He scored a season-high 31 points in a victory over VMI on Feb. 13 and was named Big South Player of the Week on Feb. 15th for his play that week.
Williams and the Bulldogs host High Point on Tuesday evening at Justice Center in the quarterfinals of the 2010 Advance Auto Parts Big South Conference men's basketball championship.
