Men's Basketball Faces Presbyterian on the Road Tuesday Night

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville men's basketball team hopes to build on a two-game winning streak when the Bulldogs go on the road to face Presbyterian College Tuesday night at the Templeton Center starting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday's game will be broadcast by WISE Radio (1310-AM) with the pre-game show starting at 7 p.m. The game will also be video-streamed and can be seen for a small fee at www.bigsouthsports.com
Asheville (12-14, 9-6 BSC) picked up its second straight win on Saturday with a 114-97 victory over VMI Saturday afternoon at Justice Center. The Bulldogs had six players score in double figures, led by a season-high 31 points from junior forward John Williams. Sophomore guard J.P. Primm had his second double-double of the year with 16 points and 13 assists. Freshman center D.J. Cunningham posted a career-best 19 points and collected 10 rebounds.
The Bulldogs need to keep winning to try and get a home game for the upcoming Big South Tournament. Asheville knows it won't be easy against a Presbyterian College team that is 4-22 on the season and 2-12 in league play. The Bulldogs had to work had to beat the Blue Hose earlier this season, 99-89 at Justice Center.
"Presbyterian is much better than its record," commented Asheville coach Eddie Biedenbach. "They've played everybody tough both at home and on the road. We had a tough time against them at our place last month."
Biedenbach will also be looking to tie former Winthrop head coach Gregg Marshall for most career coaching wins in the Big South. Marshall had 194 wins while at Winthrop. Coach Biedenbach will enter the PC game with 193 victories.
NOTES - The 114 points the Bulldogs scored on Saturday against VMI was the most by a UNC Asheville team in a Big South Conference game and the most points scored in the Biedenbach era...the Bulldogs have four players scoring in double figures...Asheville has won nine of its last 11 games...the Bulldogs will finish at or above .500 in league play for the third straight year...John Williams was named Big South Player of the Week on Monday
