11.15.2010 | Men's Basketball

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville men's basketball team is back in action Tuesday night when the Bulldogs travel to Furman for a 7 p.m. tip-off. Tuesday's game will be broadcast by ESPN Radio (1310-AM) starting at 6:30 p.m.

Asheville is coming off one of the best wins in school history Friday when the Bulldogs rallied past Auburn on the road in overtime, 70-69. Eddie Biedenbach's club trailed by 16 at halftime (37-21) and by 12 with four minutes (60-48) before going on a 15-3 run to tie the game and send it into overtime, 63-63. The Bulldogs forced an Auburn turnover in the final seconds to secure the win.

"I'm really proud of our guys for winning on Friday at Auburn," stated Biedenbach. "We did a great job of grinding things out in the second half and overtime to get a great win against an SEC team on the road."

Biedenbach is pleased with the Auburn victory but Asheville's focus has been on Furman. The Paladins return all five starters from last year's club that beat the Bulldogs in Justice Center, 72-66.

"We posted a great win against Auburn but it's a long season and there's plenty more challenges ahead," explained Biedenbach. "Furman is a good team that beat us at home last season. We always have close games with them, and I expect Tuesday's game to be another close one.  The Auburn game is behind us, and all of our energy is on Furman."

The Paladins (1-0) opened the season with a win on Friday as they knocked off North Greenville, 72-54.
