ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville men's basketball team will look to break a five-game losing streak on Saturday when the Bulldogs host Charleston Southern at Justice Center starting at 4:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on WISE Radio (1310-AM) with the pre-game show starting at 4 p.m. Saturday's game can also be seen on the web at www.bigsouthsports.com for a small fee.

Both teams are coming off frustrating losses on Thursday and are looking to rebound on Saturday. Asheville (3-11, 1-3 BSC) lost its toughest game of the year with a last-second 58-57 loss to Big South-leader Coastal Carolina Thursday afternoon. Chanticleer forward Chad Gray hit a 15-footer with 5.5 seconds left to give Coastal the winning points. Charleston Southern (7-8, 2-3 BSC) led by 13 with 11 minutes left at Gardner-Webb, but the Runnin' Bulldogs rallied for a 64-61 victory.

Asheville head coach Eddie Biedenbach believes the Bulldogs need to put the Coastal Carolina game behind them as soon as possible.

"The loss to Coastal Carolina was a tough one to swallow," stated Biedenbach. "We did a great job competing and battling but once again we were a play or two away from winning. We need to make those plays and start finding ways to win games."

Biedenbach is impressed with what he's seen from Charleston Southern on tape.

"Charleston Southern may be the most improved team in the Big South this season," declared Biedenbach. "They have guys who can score in a lot of different ways. We need to put Coastal Carolina behind us and get ready to play against a strong Charleston Southern team Saturday afternoon."

The Bulldogs have won seven straight in the series as Asheville swept both games last year. The Dogs won at Charleston Southern, 76-65 and then rallied for an 80-71 victory later in the year at Justice Center.

NOTES - Asheville has lost three straight Big South Conference games in the last six days and lost those games by a margin of 4.3 points...Sean Smith needs two three-pointers to move into second place on Asheville's career three-pointer list as he has 161 entering Saturday's game, just one behind Willie Black (162)...sophomore guard J.P. Primm has scored in double figures in four straight games.
