Women's Basketball Rallies For Overtime Win over Charleston Southern 87-83

ASHEVILLE, N.C. ? Ana Baker scored 22 points and became UNC Asheville's all-time leader in steals as the Bulldogs rallied past Charleston Southern 87-83 in overtime in Big South Conference women's action Saturday afternoon at Justice Center.
The Bulldogs (8-14, 5-4 BSC) ended a three-game losing streak with the victory. Freshman Linda Aughburns enjoyed a sensational game for UNC Asheville with a career-high 20 points and 10 rebounds. Lindsey Montgomery also had a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Freshman guard Lindsey Thompson finished with 14 points and was a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line.
Baker had four steals in the game to give her a career total of 247, passing Vicki Giffin who was the previous all-time leader with 244.
“We found a way to win and I'm really proud of the way we battled back,” commented UNC Asheville coach Betsy Blose. “I was not happy with our defense in the first half but we did a much better job in the second half. We had a great crowd and they really helped us down the stretch.”
