CSU responded later in the half and got its lead back up to eight at 61-53 on a lay-up from Ali Schwagmeyer at the 8:25 mark.

Asheville roared back with a 16-5 run to lead 69-66 as Montgomery scored seven points during the run. Her three-point play gave the Bulldogs the three-point lead with 4:11 remaining.

The Bulldogs led 71-68 at the 2:30 mark when Chioma Okolia rebounded a missed free throw and scored.
