Augst & Williams Lead Men's Basketball to 83-65 Victory

John Williams Named Co-Player of the Week by Big South

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Radford junior center Artsiom Parakhouski and UNC Asheville sophomore forward John Williams have been named the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Men's Basketball Co-Players of the Week, for games played Feb. 16-22, it was announced today by the Conference office.

 

Williams averaged 25.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 6.0 blocked shots and 76.0 percent from the field (19-of-25) in two wins last week that clinched the final home seed in the Advance Auto Parts Men's Basketball Championship for the Bulldogs.  He scored a career-high 32 points against High Point, grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked five shots against the Panthers while going 11-of-14 from the field and 10-of-14 from the line.  On Saturday vs. Coastal Carolina, Williams tallied 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting and blocked a career-best seven shots in the victory. 

 

The Raleigh native is averaging 13.2 points per game and tops the team in rebounding (6.7) and blocked shots (65). He leads the Big South in field goal shooting percentage (59.2%) in league play.
