Men's Basketball Picks Up Nine Votes in Mid-Major Top 25 Poll

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville men's basketball team received nine votes in The College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 preseason poll that was released this week.
Butler is ranked first in the poll, followed by Gonzaga. Defending Big South Conference champion Radford is ranked 25th.
The Bulldogs were not in the poll last year but were ranked in the poll for much of their record-breaking 2007-08 season. Asheville was ranked as high as 12th in the poll during that year.
Asheville plays its first exhibition game on Monday night at home against Brevard starting at 7 p.m. The Bulldogs open the 2009-10 season at Charlotte on Friday, Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m.
