KNOXVILLE, TN - #10 Tennessee scored the first 18 points of the game and dominated UNC Asheville from start to finish as the Volunteers rolled to a 124-49 win Tuesday night at

The Bulldogs (0-2) were led by sophomore guard J.P. Primm with 13 points. He scored all of his points in the second half. Reserve forward Terrence Turner came off the bench and scored seven points.

The 124 points was the most ever allowed by an Asheville squad. The 75-point deficit was the worst loss in school history.

Tennessee (2-0) was led by Scotty Hopson with 25 points. It was Volunteers coach Bruce Pearl's 100th win as head coach at Tennessee.

"We weren't ready to play from the start and it showed," stated Asheville coach Eddie Biedenbach. "Tennessee is very good but we're much better than what we showed tonight. We just struggled from the start and didn't compete like we should have."

The Bulldogs had a rough night all the way around on offense. Asheville shot 24 percent (16-of-67) from the field and six percent (1-of-16) from the three-point line. The Bulldogs had 29 turnovers that led to 49 Tennessee points.

The first half was a total nightmare for the Bulldogs. They did not get their first field goal until 3:20 was left in the first half when Turner scored on a lay-up. Asheville missed its first 19 shots of the half and finished the opening half shooting eight percent (2-of-26) from the field. The Bulldogs were 0-of-8 from the three-point line.

Hopson outscored Asheville in the opening half with 19 points. The senior guard went 6-of-7 from the field and a perfect 5-of-5 from the three-point line.

UT led 66-14 at halftime as the Volunteers shot 65 percent (24-of-37) from the field and 62 percent from the three-point line (8-of-13). Tennessee hit eight of its first nine three-point attempts.

The Bulldogs battled UT on the boards as each team finished with 44 rebounds. Asheville had 22 offensive rebounds to just 11 for Tennessee.  Eric Stubbs tied a career-high with 10 rebounds.
