ASHEVILLE, N.C. ? The UNC Asheville men's basketball team has been selected to play on ESPN to help promote the start of college basketball season this November.

The Bulldogs will play Big South Conference rival Liberty at Justice Center on Tuesday, Nov. 18th at Noon on ESPN.

The network's “College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon” includes 23 consecutive hours of college basketball and features Kentucky at North Carolina at 9 p.m.

The broadcasts will begin at midnight Nov. 18 with UMass at Memphis and will conclude after the 11:30 p.m. start of a NIT Regional Final game from Arizona.

“I think this is a wonderful opportunity for our program and for the Big South Conference to be involved in this ESPN hoops marathon,” commented UNC Asheville coach Eddie Biedenbach. “I think it is great that ESPN is doing this and what a great way to kick off the college basketball season.”

The game with Liberty will be the Bulldogs earliest ever Big South Conference opener. It will be the third game of the season for Asheville. The Dogs open the season on Nov. 14 against Belmont-Abbey and then play Montreat on Nov. 16. Both games will be played at Justice Center.

There are games featuring teams in 14 conferences and one women's game (Iowa at Kansas, 2 p.m. ET on ESPN).
It also includes four NIT semifinals and two games in the CBE Classic, including defending national champion Kansas hosting Florida Gulf Coast (9 p.m. ET, ESPN U).
Every game on ESPN and ESPN2 will be simulcast on ESPN360.com.
