UNC ASHEVILLE COACH EDDIE BIEDENBACH
“I'm really proud of our guys tonight because we really played very well against an excellent Liberty team. This was a battle from start to finish and I thought our defense did a great job for the most part. Our execution on offense was good and we had contributions from everybody on both sides of the ball.
“I thought Kenny George was very aggressive offensively and really sparked us in the first half.
“This is what you play for and that's to have a chance to play for a championship. Winthrop is a great team and it should be a great game on Saturday.”
LIBERTY COACH RITCHIE MCKAY
“I was really proud of the way our guys played. Asheville is a terrific team. I'm very, very impressed with them. I thought tonight's game would be very difficult, and such was the case. I thought our guys were battlers, not just from tip to finish tonight, but throughout the whole season. My hats off to Asheville. They're a terrific team and Eddie has done a wonderful job with his group. I wish Kenny would go to the NBA so we don't have to try to guard a 7-9 guy again next year. He's a great player. I marvel at the improvement he's made, and not just from last year to this year on the tapes I watched, but from January 12 to now. He's just gotten better and better. He's a true factor.”
