Zielona Góra, Poland – UNC Asheville men's basketball alum Toyaz Solomon has signed his first professional contract, agreeing to join Zastal Zielona Góra of the Polish Basketball League (Orlen Basket Liga) for the 2026-27 season. Solomon will begin his professional career in Europe following an outstanding three-year career with the Bulldogs.
The 2025-26 Big South Conference Preseason Player of the Year finished this past season averaging 16.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting 36.3 percent from three-point range. He finished the year by earning All-Big South Second Team honors and Big South All-Tournament Team honors after averaging 27.0 points and 8.5 rebounds during Asheville's conference tournament run.
The Enfield, N.C., native etched his name into the program record book, becoming just the third player in school history to record 1,000 career points, 500 rebounds, 100 assists, and 100 blocked shots.
His professional destination, Zastal Zielona Góra, has established itself as one of Poland's premier basketball clubs. Head coach Arkadiusz Miłoszewski praised Solomon's athleticism, ability to excel in transition, physical presence around the basket, and developing perimeter shooting as key reasons for bringing him to the club.
Solomon's signing is the latest example of UNC Asheville's tradition of developing student-athletes for success at the next level. Fans can watch the next generation of Bulldogs this season by securing 2026-27 men's basketball season tickets, available now.
